Have you ever had a Kentucky Hot Brown? They can be made very easily, and make a great weekend breakfast, brunch, and even dinner item. It’s a biscuit topped with sliced turkey, fresh tomato, bacon and cheese.
Yield: Serves 4
Kentucky Hot Browns
Ingredients:
- 1 can (16.3 oz) Pillsbury™ Grands!™ Homestyle refrigerated Southern style biscuits (8 biscuits)
- 8 thick slices bacon
- 2 large tomatoes
- 8 thick slices cooked turkey breast
- 1 1/2 cups finely shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese blend (6 oz)
Directions:
- Bake biscuits as directed on can.
- Meanwhile, cut bacon slices in half; cook or microwave until crisp. Cut each tomato into 4 thick slices.
- When biscuits are baked, increase oven temperature to 400°F.
- Using fork, split warm biscuits. Place bottom halves of biscuits on ungreased cookie sheet. Top each biscuit half with 1 slice turkey breast, 2 tablespoons shredded cheese, 1 slice tomato, 1 half-slice bacon and 1 more tablespoon shredded cheese.
- Bake 5 to 7 minutes or until cheese is melted. To serve, cover each hot brown with top half of biscuit.
