A slight twist on traditional pesto, using walnuts instead of pine nuts, giving this pesto and earthier flavor. Toasted Walnut Basil Pesto is easy to make.
Toasted Walnut Basil Pesto
Ingredients:
- 4 heaping cups of basil leaves
- 1/2 cup toasted walnuts
- 1/2 - 1/3 cup olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1/4 - 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 lemon (helps maintain fresh green color!)
- big pinches kosher or sea salt and fresh ground pepper, to taste
Directions:
Add all ingredients to the pitcher of your blender (or food processor) and blend until smooth.
